Estimating Competition Searching for a Project
Every year students participating in the OCA Estimating Competition compete using a previously-constructed project from one of our members. Last year’s students estimated the Columbia Road Relocation project, presented by the John R. Jurgensen Co. We are now looking for a new project for the 2020 competition. If you are willing to attend a couple of meetings to discuss your project and give a presentation to those attending the competition, please contact David Rule at 614-488-0724. The competition dates are February 14 & 15.
OCA Safety Awards - 2019!
OCA’s Jerry Keller Memorial Safety Awards program is a great opportunity for our contractor members to showcase their safety programs and be recognized for their achievements. All OCA members are encouraged to participate!
Awards are presented in several size divisions, based on total hours worked. Recognition is also given to any contractors who achieve zero accidents and injuries during the year!
Winners will be announced during the Winter Conference Awards program on Tuesday, December 10th at the Hilton Easton in Columbus. Please click on the following link ( application ) to access the application form. The deadline date for submission is Friday, November 22, 2019. Please return the completed form at your earliest convenience so that your company will be in the running for OCA’s coveted safety award!

OCA members invited to attend Ohio Laborers’ Union Workforce Development Presentation to be held Nov. 7 in Vienna and Nov. 14 in Cincinnati
Ohio Laborers' Union is holding workforce development presentations around the state and would like to extend an invitation to OCA members for the upcoming dates of Nov. 7 and Nov. 14. Discussion topics are relevant to workforce development, safety, and health programs such as:
- Laborers' Health & Safety Fund
- Fair Contracting staff
- Apprenticeship standards and recruitment
- Health and Pension benefits available

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the conference time is 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be held at the Local 265 located at 3457 Montgomery Rd. Cincinnati, 45207. Lunch will be provided.

Join the Conversation About Ohio's Future Transportation System
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is hosting a series of 10 public meetings around the state to share with residents and other interested stakeholders details on ODOT’s update to Ohio's long-range transportation plan, called Access Ohio 2045.
The public and interested stakeholders are invited to attend. The meeting is an open house format with presentations at 4:30 and 6:00pm. Give feedback on proposed strategies and learn about how Ohio might look in 25 years.
