ODOT Meeting Regarding DBE Goal Subdivision
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is holding a Public Meeting on December 16th 10am – 12pm at 1980 West Broad Street Columbus, Ohio to discuss the DBE Waiver Request submitted to the US Department of Transportation earlier this year. This request, if approved, would allow ODOT to subdivide DBE Goals on federal projects by race, ethnicity, and gender. Your comments and participation are encouraged. OCA’s Columbus and Southwest Chapters in tight race for Chapter of the Year
The OCA Chapter of the Year contest is in the final stretch with the winning Chapter to be announced at the Winter Conference in December. Currently, the Columbus Chapter has the lead by one point, with the Southwest Chapter following close behind.
These standings can change quickly as end-of-the-year membership applications and PAC donations come in. The deadline for all final efforts to be included in the contest is Nov. 30.
Chapter of the year points are based on meeting attendance, increased membership and PAC contributions. Groups that complete a hands-on community service project that benefits their local community also receive bonus points equaling 10 percent of their total score.
Below is a chart showing the current group standings. OCA appreciates the commitment of all volunteer leaders throughout the state who work very hard to make the Chapters successful.
