EPA Clean Diesel News
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is now accepting proposals for the FY 2016 Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program funded through the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA). The total estimated funding for this competitive opportunity is approximately $26 million. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is posted on http://www3.epa.gov/. EPA will host informational webinars on Tuesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 10. Both will be at 2:00 pm ET. This RFP has been updated from the most recent competition, so applicants are encouraged to carefully review the RFP.

OCA to Host BIM & IPD Seminar
The American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Ohio Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), and the Structural Engineers Association of Ohio (SeAoO), and OCA have joined together to present a seminar on Building Information Models (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). BIM & IPD support creation of interactive digital assets that serve as the mortar in the foundation of a new smart build culture that eliminates much of the waste in construction. Presenting will be James Salmon, President of Collaborative Construction Resources, LLC, an attorney and BIM and IPD consultant to the law firm Benjamin Yocum and Heather, LLC, who represents several OCA members. The event will be held at OCA on Friday, March 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Seating will be limited to the first 50 people. The cost will be $25 and includes lunch. BWC will send a 2015 true-up notice on July 1 and the report is due by August 15. True-up reports must be submitted either online (www.bwc.ohio.gov) or telephonically at 800.644.6292. Click herefor more information.
• Did you Know Unemployment Costs Increased for 2016? :
Maximum claim costs increased from $14,872 to $15,262. This is the potential amount an employer can be charged for one unemployment claim.
Maximum unemployment tax rates increased from 8.6% to 8.7%. The minimum tax rate remains 0.3%. Employers continue to pay unemployment taxes on the first $9,000 of each employee’s payroll unless they are exempt from this requirement. Click here to read more.
Crew Lead Boot Camp to be offered Tuesday, March 15 and 22
OCA is offering a Crew Lead Boot Camp designed to equip on-site supervisors who are responsible for the daily execution of work. This is for your field managers, foreman, superintendents, project managers and any others in charge of running crews on the site. The program consists of two full-day sessions and one individual coaching session. The dates are Tuesday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at OCA, 1313 Dublin Rd., Columbus, 43215. Cost to attend the program is $825 per person and includes lunch on both days.
This highly interactive session, taught by Guy Gage, LPC CPT and Robyn Showalter, MA will teach attendees using easy-to-remember models and processes. Guy and Robyn have a strong knowledge of the industry and come highly recommended by several OCA members and other industry associations. Participants will gain an understanding of:
• personal behavior styles
• how to relate to others effectively

• how to reduce job downtime
