For Ohio Employers To True-Up Payroll With BWC!
UPDATE! The first-ever payroll
True-up period for private employers begins July 1, 2016. Payroll true-up
reports are due to BWC no later than Aug. 15, 2016.
At the end of each private employer policy period (July), it is necessary
to reconcile estimated payroll with actual payroll. This is called the
True-up. This report can be completed online at: http://ow.ly/4mWUlm or over the phone by calling
1-800-644-6292.
This new payroll True-up process is part of prospective billing, and as a
result, Ohio businesses are now required to reconcile their actual payroll
annually for the prior policy year and also reconcile any differences in
premium paid. According to BWC, the True-up allows more accurate premium
calculation. Even if actual payroll for the year matches the original BWC
estimate or a business had zero payroll, the True-up report must be
completed.
The quickest and easiest way to True-up is online with a BWC e-account. If
you do not have a BWC e-account you can create one by signing on to: https://www.bwc.ohio.gov/SelfSvcAccountAdmin/newacc.asp.
You can also complete the True-up through the BWC call center however wait
times may be extremely high, as a result BWC encourages the use of their
online reporting system.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Again, August 15, 2016 is the due date for your True-up report to be
completed with BWC. This is a critical deadline, as the BWC has indicated
that if a business does not complete the True-up timely, they may not be
eligible for current, and future alternative rating and premium discount
programs such as Group Rating and Group Retrospective Rating. Once more,
reports must be submitted either online at (http://ow.ly/4mWUlm)
or by phone at 800.644.6292.

Did you know that you have your
own personal company profile in our database system? To view your profile,
log onto our website (www.ohiocontractors.org)
using your username and password. Your username is your e-mail address. If
you don’t know your password, just click “forgot my password” to receive
your password. Once you are in the system, you’ll see “Hi,<your name>”
at the top. Click on that to view your profile. We constantly strive to
provide better services for our members, and that includes our
website/database that will continually improve as we tap into its many

Hall
of Fame Nominations and Distinguished Service Award Nominations
In recognition of outstanding
service within the heavy/highway industry and our association, nominations
are being accepted for the following professionals:
• Hall of Fame (contractor members)
• Distinguished Service Award (associate members)
Requests for nominations are solicited through chapter meetings and
newsletters. Nominated candidates must meet the following requirements
before being listed for election:
a) Must have 20 years of service to the construction industry.
b) Active with OCA at least 15 years, serving at least 15 years on OCA’s
statewide committees.
c) Candidates should have contributed significantly toward the stated goals
and purposes of the Ohio Contractors Association.
Candidates must be nominated by an OCA member. No more than two may be
elected to the Hall of Fame and one elected for the Distinguished Service
Award each year. A secret ballot will be used to select nominees. Awards
will be presented at the OCA Winter Conference. Deadline for nomination is
September 23, 2016.

Past Presidents Service Award
Nominations
The Past Presidents of OCA have
established an annual award, “The Past Presidents’ Service Award,” that
stands for recognition of outstanding service for or on behalf of OCA. Its
purpose is to encourage OCA members to contribute more service for the
association throughout the year and reward them for doing so. This award
will be presented at the OCA Winter Conference.
The award includes $500 to be shared equally by those elected, as well as a
plaque, supplied by the Past Presidents. Any candidate must be affiliated
with an OCA member in good standing. He or she must have contributed some
extraordinary service for the association during the year. Any, and every,
OCA member is eligible. OCA staff members are not eligible. Any OCA member
may submit a name to be considered.
All persons to be considered will be rated by all Past Chairpersons on a
scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest rating. The person receiving the
most points will receive the award. OCA will be responsible for
distributing the names and resumes to the Past Chairpersons and collecting
and tabulating the ratings of the nominees. Deadline for nominations is
September 23, 2016.
