I Build America Launches Its First “Construction Appreciation Week”
I Build America, the parent organization that assisted OCA and AGC Ohio in the creation of our IBuildAmerica-Ohio.com website, has announced its sponsorship of “Construction Appreciation Week.” Construction affects the lives of every person in America, and the impact of those who work in the industry extends far beyond the boundaries of the job site. Not only does this initiative serve as an official opportunity to recognize the men and women who contribute to the development of our infrastructure, but to create a dialogue and encourage understanding of the value construction brings to our every day lives. We’re also excited to provide an opportunity for members of the construction industry to share their life experiences with the local community. 2019 OCA Convention in the Riviera Maya

2019 Conaway Conference Dates
If you are filling in your calendar for 2019, you may want to include the Conaway Conference. The dates of this collaborative conference between OCA and ODOT will be Tuesday and Wednesday, February 26 and 27. Contact Chris Engle or Rachel Sirca with questions.
Estimating Competition Searching for a Project
Every year students participating in the OCA Estimating Competition compete using a previously-constructed project from one of our members. Last year’s students estimated the Dublin Smart Parking Lot, presented by George J. Igel Co. We are now looking for a new project for the 2019 competition. If you are willing to attend a couple of meetings to discuss your project and give a presentation to those attending the competition, please contact Rachel Sirca at 614-488-0724. The competition dates are February 22 & 23.
Winter Conference – Hilton at Easton is Full
As of now, we have used all of our room block and the Hilton is full. There are a couple of steps if you plan on staying overnight during the winter conference. 1. First check with the Hilton, just in case a room has become available. 2. We are in the process of contracting with the Marriott Courtyard and Renaissance, both a five-minute walk across Easton Center from the Hilton. We should have more details next week.
