Virtual Interview with ODOT Director, Jack Marchbanks
Work on ODOT contracts has continued through this time of COVID-19. During this time, the Department has been mandated to address the many distancing and PPE requirements for their own workforce and be responsible for monitoring similar activities of contractors to comply with the Stay-At-Home Order. How is ODOT doing in applying and monitoring these mandates? Are they happy with how work is continuing to progress? Will there be sufficient funds to keep up the pace of work that was anticipated through 2020 and into 2021? These questions and more will be asked of ODOT Director, Jack Marchbanks during an interview with OCA President, Chris Runyan that will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, at 9:00 a.m. To register for the event click on the link below:

OCA Columbus Chapter Gives Back with Donations for Two Community Organizations

Around the state we are seeing the demand rise for services needed from community organizations that support those in need of food and shelter – at the same time many of those organizations are seeing a decline in private donations due to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Based on the idea of a member, OCA’s Columbus Chapter jumped into action to help support two of the many local charitable groups being stretched thin at this time. By seeking monetary donations of chapter members, $7,000 was raised to be split equally between Blessings in a Backpack, based in Marysville and Friends of the Homeless in Columbus.

Blessings in a Backpack is volunteer driven and typically distributes food to families in need by providing items to students at school to take home. The program has continued while schools are closed and is providing food for pickup. Friends of the Homeless, a program of Southeast, Inc., provides emergency, transitional and supportive shelter for men and women.

“We realize that OCA member’s give consistently and generously to their local communities through their own company programs. The act of purposefully choosing as a chapter to come together on behalf of the industry and provide this support is something that is not taken for granted and very much needed and appreciated by the benefitting organizations", said OCA Director of Chapter Development, Melanie Kitchen.

Thank you to all the OCA Columbus Chapter members with logos below that made donations in support of this community service effort!
