Virtual Interview with ODOT Director, Jack Marchbanks

During this time, the Department has been mandated to address the many distancing and PPE requirements for their own workforce and be responsible for monitoring similar activities of contractors to comply with the Stay-At-Home Order. OCA Columbus Chapter Gives Back with Donations for Two Community Organizations

Around the state we are seeing the demand rise for services needed from community organizations that support those in need of food and shelter – at the same time many of those organizations are seeing a decline in private donations due to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Based on the idea of a member, OCA’s Columbus Chapter jumped into action to help support two of the many local charitable groups being stretched thin at this time. By seeking monetary donations of chapter members, $7,000 was raised to be split equally between Blessings in a Backpack, based in Marysville and Friends of the Homeless in Columbus.

Blessings in a Backpack is volunteer driven and typically distributes food to families in need by providing items to students at school to take home. The program has continued while schools are closed and is providing food for pickup. Friends of the Homeless, a program of Southeast, Inc., provides emergency, transitional and supportive shelter for men and women.

“We realize that OCA member’s give consistently and generously to their local communities through their own company programs. The act of purposefully choosing as a chapter to come together on behalf of the industry and provide this support is something that is not taken for granted and very much needed and appreciated by the benefitting organizations", said OCA Director of Chapter Development, Melanie Kitchen.

Thank you to all the OCA Columbus Chapter members with logos below that made donations in support of this community service effort!

EEOC Delays EEO Data Collections Due to COVID-19 Emergency

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will delay the anticipated opening of the 2019 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection and the 2020 EEO-3 and EEO-5 data collections because of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency, the agency announced May 7, 2020 in a Federal Register notice.

The EEO (equal employment opportunity) surveys collect data from employers in different sectors of the workforce. The EEOC was planning to open the following EEO surveys in 2020: the 2019 EEO-1 Component 1 (Employer Information Report); the 2020 EEO-3 (Local Report); and the 2020 EEO-5 (Elementary-Secondary Staff Information Report).
