Public Agencies

Public Agencies (including ODOT) - along with the associated red tape - represent a significant portion of the highway/heavy work in Ohio. OCA gives members a representative voice and link to public agencies. Thanks to strong relationships forged over decades, ODOT and OCA partner in policy and program development and project issue resolution.

Partnering is fundamental to OCA's mission; the association commits significant resources to supportive activities like:

NEGOTIATE STATEWIDE ISSUES

  • steel price adjustment
  • fuel price adjustment
  • dispute resolution advice and assistance
  • proposed specification revisions
  • bridge partnership program
  • Ohio Turnkpike financing

SERVE ON ODOT SPEC COMMITTEES

  • 100 section (contract administration)
  • earthwork
  • pavements
  • structures
  • hydraulics
  • traffic & roadway

Contracts

OCA works to provide its members with the latest information relative to the bidding and performance of contracts with various public works agencies such as the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Ohio Turnpike Commission (OTC) and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Monitored information includes contract offerings, sales, awards, and policy changes that affect the way contracts are bid.
