Today in House Finance Committee ODOT Director Jack Marchbanks presented the DeWine Administration’s transportation funding proposal.  It includes increasing the motor fuel tax by 18 cents beginning July 1, 2019 and indexing the tax annually with the consumer price index. The proposal would generate an additional $1.21 billion which would allocate $750 million to the state and the remaining would be allocated to local governments according to current funding formulas.

We are grateful to Governor DeWine for making this bold gesture in support of transportation funding.  This is far from a done deal as the House and Senate will have to approve the proposal before it becomes law.  Stay tuned, more details will be forthcoming on how you can help support the proposal.
